The C Wonder shirt I had ordered in this previous post arrived on my doorsteps three days after I placed the order online. Wow. I was amazed at how quickly my order was processed and shipped, considering it seems other stores average a week or so. I love little personal touches with orders and the colorful Thank You note and the envelope sleeve for your invoice was such a pretty detail I appreciated.
When I opened up the packaging, I was very pleased with the quality. The shirt had a nice elasticity and stretch, the cuffs and collar were crisp, and the gold buttons was such a lush detail. The color of the shirt was more turquoise than green in person but it was still very gorgeous in person as it was online.
Now the fit is a different story. I normally wear a petite XS or XS in J.Crew and I wished C Wonder offered petite sizing. As you can tell from the picture, the sleeves are very long and the shoulder was a little wide for my frame. But then again, I think I have narrow shoulders.
Overall aside from the fit I was very pleased with the shirt. I'm hoping that after I wash and dry the shirt, it might shrink a little bit on the shoulders and shirt length. I don't think it'll shrink drastically but a little can go a long way. In terms of the sleeve length, I think that can be altered so I was willing to work with the shirt.
I was thinking about whether or not I would order from C Wonder again and I think until I can try on the item in store and get more familiar with the brand, I may be hesitant. However, the overall quality is great and when the items are on sale the pricing is quite fantastic. Overall, even though I'm hesitant to try online shopping from C.Wonder again (since they don't have a B&M store in Minneapolis), but I haven't crossed them off of my list.
What do you think of this shirt?
Do you have any recommendations on how to shrink this shirt?

Love that color, and the trim/buttons are fun accents! I'm sure it will shrink if you put it in the dryer, and you could always get the sleeves hemmed or just wear them scrunched up a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking hemming is probably the best option unless the material is shrinkable in the dryer. If the instructions say to hang dry then there's a chance you can shrink it in the dryer. Otherwise, there might not be any hope :(
ReplyDeleteI think it looks cute regardless. As prettyanddelectable said, just wear the sleeves scrunched up a bit. I love the color!

That color is gorgeous! I'm surprised I've never heard of c-wonder until recent.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute shirt. I like how its a cross between jersey/dress shirt. If you love it, I would recommend getting the sleeves shortened. If you can't do it yourself, I don't think it should cost too much...maybe the same cost as hemming a pair of pants?
ReplyDeleteI love the color and style of the shirt.

Really nice! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteLove the contrasting color! What was the material again? You might want to google it before popping it in the dryer on high heat. Good luck! I always like to try on in store b/c I'm not familiar with any brands, except maybe Old Navy ;)
ReplyDeleteit's a stunning colour - agree with the ladies to wear it scrunched up if shrinking doesn't work.
